From early morning, or sometimes during the night before, the fog can roll in and blanket the city. It often doesn't lift until mid to late morning. A drive up any of the mountains or hills in the city brings a different view from down below in the middle of the fog. Up above is blue sky and sunshine. And from up above, you can find just the tops of landmarks, such as this photograph with the very top of the Parliament House flagpole the only visible part of Canberra's largest building.
