The Hazards, made up (L-R) of Mount Parsons, Mount Boudin, Mount Dove, Mount Amos and Mount Mayson, are the dominant feature of the Freycinet Peninsula.

The are composed of feldspar granite and iron oxide impurities in this feldspar create the pink tint.

Named not for any perceived danger, but for a whaling ship captain by the name of Albert Hazard, and the individual peaks named for notable European settlers (all men, by the way)

They are an ancient part of an ancient landscape and a draw for hikers, but surprisingly not a feature of much of the tourism paraphernalia.  I think they are stunning and a worthy selling point for the area.
